The Course Overview of the Online Women and Children Protection Online (WCPOL) Training presents the rationale, blueprint, and structures of the three courses administered by the Child Protection Network Foundation, Inc (CPN). These include training programs in (1) recognizing, recording, reporting, and referring (4Rs), (2) the Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) Approach, and (3) the Certificate in Women and Children Protection Specialty (CWCPS).
The 4Rs refer to recognizing, reporting, recording, and referring of women and children abuse. The Online 4Rs training is open to any person, parent, member representing any agency or institution interested in or involved in dealing with children and women who are suspected victims of abuse or any form of domestic violence or gender-based violence.
The MDT Training is especially designed for medical practitioners, social workers, and PNP officers whose career paths focus on women and children protection work. This is composed of four online modules for women and children protection unit (WCPU) practitioners and program managers. The modules are also ladder type such that the first serves as prerequisite to the next until the completion of all the four.
The highest rung in the online ladderized training of the Child Protection Network Foundation, Inc. (CPN) refers to the Women and Children Protection Specialty Training (WCPST). Finishers of this online training are expected to manage not only the victims of abuse but also the Women and Children Protection Unit (WCPU) in their respective geographic locations. Participants who satisfactorily complete the 4Rs and MDT, who are directly managing women and children as victims of abuse, and are either working with an existing WCPU or part of the team that plans to establish a new WCPU, and are recommended by their supervisors qualify to take the WCPST program.
Trauma Informed care refers to how organizations and service providers think about and respond to survivors of trauma. Such an approach includes having an understanding of the impact of trauma on the lives of survivors and the complexity involved in recovery. THe purpose of this Guide is to provide information and practical tools to service providers enabling them to engage with survivors of trauma in a way that is sensitive to their part experiences and their current functioning while also supporting their recovery.
